Connecticut State Funding

State Funding
Connecticut offers competitive school-security grant programs that help schools improve physical security, strengthen emergency communication, and support faster coordination with law enforcement during a crisis.

School Security Grant Program
SSGP
The School Security Grant Program provides competitive funding for schools to complete security infrastructure improvements.
Eligible projects may include:
- door and window replacements or upgrades;
- access-control systems;
- perimeter security, such as fencing, lighting, and bollards;
- interior or exterior camera systems;
- panic alarm systems.
This program is focused on improving the physical security of school buildings and grounds.
Multi-Media School Security Grant Program
The Multi-Media School Security Grant Program supports security projects that create a direct communication link between schools and law enforcement.
Eligible projects may include multi-media interoperable communication systems that can send immediate notifications to law enforcement or emergency call centers. This may include panic alarm systems when they are capable of transmitting alerts directly to law enforcement.
The program is intended to improve emergency response by helping schools share critical information with first responders quickly and effectively.
